As you all probably know, Coshocton IS Scarecrow Town All October!

Bigfoot made by The Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum

During the month of October, Coshocton residents, organizations, and businesses are invited to be a part of Coshocton’s Scarecrow Trail! This interactive, online map will guide folks through Clary Gardens, the City of Coshocton & into West Lafayette to see and vote for their favorite scarecrows! See Coshocton transform into an autumn oasis this October! There are 4 scarecrow categories: Traditional, Pop Culture, Creepy, & the coveted Peoples’ Choice. Participants will decide which category they will be in upon registration (all are entered into Peoples’ Choice). The Winners will be announced on Saturday, October 26 at the Scarecrow Town Festival on Main Street. (See: Scarecrow Town Festival)

This event is a perfect team building exercise, supports Clary Gardens, and gives your business or organization positive publicity! Please email mothgirl@clarygardens.org with any questions.

Volunteer Program
October 7 & 21
10:00A.M.-12:00P.M.

You have been asking about volunteering opportunities, and we have been listening! We are excited to offer a bi-weekly volunteer program starting on July 1st at 10:00A.M. This is an awesome opportunity for people who want both social networking and hands-on garden experiences. Each morning will begin with light refreshments and conversation then volunteers will head outside to work in the Gardens. The program will happen rain or shine! On the beautiful, sunny days, everyone will be outside learning about different gardening techniques and putting their new knowledge to use. On rainy days, volunteers will work in the garden houses. All necessary materials, such as gloves and trowels, will be provided by the Gardens. If you are interested in being a part of this volunteering experience, please email us at events@clarygardens.org

Fall Gourd Workshop
October 10
6:00P.M-8:30P.M.

Bring your friends and decorate a gourd bowl or vase! Jump into fall with beautiful leaf designs. Instructor and local gourd artist, Norma Owens, will lead a hands-on learning experience where you get to decorate and create one-of-a-kind gourds to showcase. Participants will learn the basics of gourd growing, cutting, wood burning, and decorating. The best part is that everyone gets to take home their very own masterpiece!

The workshop is $10 for Clary Gardens members and $20 for non-members. Space is limited, so please email your registration to mothgirl@clarygardens.org to save a space! You won't want to miss out!

Yoga With The Scarecrows
October 16
5:00P.M.-6:00P.M.

Celebrate Scarecrow Town and fall by joining us for Yoga With The Scarecrows! Once again, we are teaming up with Yoga Intent, and Instructor Kristin Cheney will be offering a family-friendly yoga class for all skill levels. Relax in a fall wonderland surrounded by beautiful fall leaves and wonderfully creative scarecrows.

Participants are asked to bring bug spray, and a yoga mat if they have one. If you don’t have a yoga mat, a beach towel, outdoor blanket, or rug works just fine! The classes are free and open to the public. A donation of $5 is encouraged. Please register for a spot by emailing Kristin Cheney at kristincheney@yahoo.com.

Family Trail & Treat
October 29
4:30P.M.-5:30P.M.

Don't miss our 4th Annual Family Trail & Treat Night at the Gardens this October 30th from 4:30-5:30! Dress the kids in their favorite costume and bring a bag to collect treats. We will have costumed volunteers throughout the paths passing out candy and giving away a few educational tidbits about the gardens.

**This is a garden fundraiser: $1 per person to enter the gates. We hope to see you at Clary's! There will be face painting, refreshments, and other games by donation too!**
